yesterday i talked about logos and i made a moderately offensive analogy between talented logo designers and lamed vavnik, or tzadikim nistarim, or the 36 chosen people of jewish mysticism. this morning i did a bunch of research on what it means to be a tzadik nistar, and i realize that i really botched it with my comparison. a tzadik nistar carries the weight of the world’s suffering (or 1/36th the weight). they show god what humanity is capable of, so that he won’t destroy us.
really good logo designers are just really good logo designers. but they are still heroes to me.
