portland bright and beautiful

i moved here on a whim. it was pretty stupid. (i’m so glad i was so stupid.)

it took me awhile to find a job so i had a lot of time to watch arrested development and read the little house on the prairie books at powell’s. fortunately, i also used my unemployment for some good. i did a photo project around the city photographing the two things that stood out most to me - the colorful craftsman houses, and the cob benches and neighborhood structures built by the village building convergence (and a few other things i found super cool.)

that was four years ago. i bike by these places and smile to myself because this cool city that was so novel to me initially has become a good home and when i see a bright craftsman house now i’m like yeah, that’s how we roll.
